The Story
Sometimes, we as humans, feel as though going off on our own & surviving alone is the most courageous act we can do. We conjure up reasons to convince ourselves that we are enough and we don't need anybody else. “I’m safer out here alone." - "No one can hurt me if I don’t let them around me.” These are the types of lies we repeat in our hearts and, ultimately, we end up believing them.
But, the truth of the matter is, Lone Wolves Die Alone.
How do I know this? I lived for years in emotional & relational isolation, all shrouded in a false sense of self-preservation. Only to find myself empty and utterly alone.
Lone Wolves have reasons for their isolation & self-preservation tactics. Most of these reasons are 110% valid. Believe me, I am well acquainted with that trap, my friend. However, this trap keeps us from moving forward and one day we realize we are simply existing...and not living. At some point, this snare must be released.
The most courageous act that you have is to bring your pain, scars, and insecurity back to the pack. Find your people. Find healing. Find community.
Allow this patch to be more than a fashion piece. Make it a daily reminder to check in on those around you. Open up to people and be vulnerable. It will take courage. But it is worth it.
Have someone in your life who is struggling in this area?
Encourage them, be there for them, be relentless in your pursuit of making them feel loved and perhaps buy 2 patches (one for you, one for them) as a way of bonding and letting them know that they're not alone.
